Scenario Engineer, Mining Autonomy

About the role

Applied Intuition is seeking a Scenario Engineer to lead the creation of simulation test scenarios for its Mining Autonomy portfolio. In this technical and operational position you will develop new scenarios, maintain existing libraries, and refine advanced metrics to support autonomous‑vehicle testing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement simulation scenarios across Mining Autonomy domains.
• Define safety and comfort performance requirements for each scenario.
• Create data visualizations and reports to assess autonomous‑vehicle performance and coverage.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and sales teams, providing feedback on simulation tools and usability.
• Support customer teams in building scenario libraries tailored to their operational design domains.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year university.
• At least 1 year of experience creating scenarios and conducting simulation testing for autonomous vehicles.
• Understanding of safety verification and validation processes for vehicle software.
• Experience with issue‑tracking and configuration‑management tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Git).
• Strong analytical, detail‑oriented mindset and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for developing comprehensive safety arguments for autonomous systems.
