Salesforce Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Salesforce Developer to join the Division of Information Technology at the University of Maryland, College Park. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining Salesforce solutions that support academic and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Apex code, Lightning Web Components, triggers, batch, schedulable and queueable processes.
• Create and enhance Lightning pages and Communities to improve user experience.
• Integrate Salesforce with external systems using REST APIs and data‑integration tools such as Informatica.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle using Agile practices, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment.
• Deploy solutions with Metadata API, Change Sets, VS Code, Salesforce CLI and manage version control with Git.
• Write unit tests to achieve high code coverage and ensure system stability.
• Document technical designs and maintain system documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of professional software development, with two years on the Salesforce platform.
• Active Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (or equivalent).
• Experience in higher‑education environments is a plus.
