Sales Development Associate

About the role

The Sales Development Associate supports sales growth by covering routes without permanent representation, delivering products, merchandising, and managing account relationships. This internal position is designed for current associates seeking to develop sales expertise while meeting service expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Visit accounts on daily routes lacking coverage and establish an efficient routing pattern.
• Strategize sales and merchandising actions based on account buying patterns, pricing, and product programming.
• Maintain product levels by taking inventory and restocking shelves where permitted.
• Enhance brand visibility using appropriate point‑of‑sale materials.
• Serve customers in challenging situations, address issues, and escalate when necessary.
• Collect payments in applicable markets and provide extended route coverage as needed.
• Achieve distribution, volume, and activity targets set by management.
• Complete required surveys to ensure national account compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training/experience.
• No prior sales experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication with diplomatic customer service approach.
• Ability to multitask, work independently or within a team, and meet deadlines.
• Analytical and reporting capabilities with sound judgment and problem‑solving skills.
