Safety Manager

About the role

The Safety Manager will work on Bureau Veritas' wind and solar project sites in Elkhart, ensuring a safe work environment for team members, contractors, and visitors. This role requires interaction with staff at all levels, flexibility in a changing environment, and a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Assist project management in developing and executing site‑specific safety programs and Emergency Action Plans.
• Implement and administer the safety program at each wind and solar worksite, including orientation and training.
• Conduct safety audits, track violations, and produce daily, weekly and monthly safety reports.
• Review incident analyses, safety submittals, and coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements.
• Support onsite injury management, case management and safety budget administration.

Required profile

• BS in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in renewable (wind, solar, battery) construction safety.
• Clean driving record and valid state driver’s license; ability to travel as required.
• Pass pre‑employment background check and drug screening as needed.

Required skills

• OSHA 500 certification (or ability to obtain quickly).
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• LOTO safety procedures knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of NEC and PV components (modules, inverters, racking systems).
• Tower Safety and Climbing certification.
