Safety & Compliance Specialist – Fraud Analyst (Grant Funded)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services is seeking a Safety & Compliance Specialist to serve as a Fraud Analyst within its CDL Fraud Prevention Section. This grant‑funded position focuses on ensuring compliance of commercial driver training schools, instructors, and examiners across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and monitor CDL‑regulated programs, instructors, and examiners to verify compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations.
• Develop and implement a data‑collection instrument to track monitoring events for each site.
• Analyze baseline data and drive a minimum 5 % annual increase in compliance rates.
• Identify low‑compliance schools, instructors, or examiners for targeted review and corrective action.
• Conduct fraud or mismanagement investigations and prepare formal audit reports for management.
• Collaborate with management to create and monitor Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and ensure timely responses.
• Determine statewide training needs and assist with CDL training events.
• Respond to management and customer inquiries professionally and promptly.

Required profile

• Under limited supervision, ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and agency regulations.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in auditing or compliance monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder interaction.
• Capacity to work independently in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to change.
