Roving Supply Chain Advisor – Field Support

About the role

The Roving Supply Chain Advisor provides strategic advice, guidance, and hands‑on support for all Supply Chain Management activities across Catholic Relief Services. Working remotely, the advisor deploys to country programs as needed and contributes to global supply‑chain initiatives, ensuring agile, compliant, and efficient systems that enable high‑quality humanitarian programming.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of agency‑wide supply‑chain strategies, standards, tools and best practices.
• Provide supply‑chain input for proposal development, including SCM plans, commodity calculators and procurement plans.
• Contribute to the design and rollout of digital supply‑chain solutions that enhance speed, accountability and integrity.
• Represent CRS at regional planning and coordination meetings, building relationships with donors, partners and governments.
• Deploy to country programs as Acting Supply Chain Manager or Operations Manager to cover vacancies, start‑ups or emergency responses.
• Collaborate with country operations and programming leads to strengthen logistics, procurement, warehousing and fleet‑management processes.
• Ensure effective use of Enterprise Resource Planning systems (e.g., Oracle) for planning, execution and reporting.
• Promote use of performance metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement and accountability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supply‑chain management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to field locations.
• Strong analytical ability to translate data into actionable improvements.
• Experience working with donors, governments and partner organizations.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Oracle ERP (or comparable Enterprise Resource Planning system).
