Roll Operator B

About the role

The Roll Operator B works on the shop floor to run roll machines and perform welding and cutting tasks required for production. The role involves setting up equipment, following shop orders, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Clock in and out using shop orders for each job.
• Set up and operate roll machines according to material type, size, and drawing requirements.
• Use manual welding equipment to fuse metal seams for long‑seam welding.
• Operate flame‑cutting torches or plasma cutters as needed.
• Report any quality or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain equipment, promote safety and environmental best practices, and keep the work area clean.
• Assist in other departments when required and perform miscellaneous duties.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year of trades training and related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, bills of material, safety rules, and operating instructions.
• Basic computer literacy, reading, writing, and math skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions.
• Dependable work record and willingness to work in a team‑oriented environment.
