RN Med/Tele Stepdown – Weekend Nights

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Med/Tele Stepdown unit to work weekend night shifts. The RN will provide direct patient care, lead the nursing team, and ensure high‑quality outcomes in a fast‑paced environment while adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Delegate, direct, and collaborate with licensed and ancillary staff as a team leader.
• Utilize data and clinical information to drive improvements and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families, adapting communication to diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
• Document care accurately in electronic health records and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Participate in unit and department strategic initiatives to enhance quality and safety.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No prior work experience required.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
