Risk Manager – Credit Risk Management

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking a Risk Manager to lead system and local credit risk policy initiatives within its Credit Risk Management unit. This senior‑level position focuses on overseeing overnight and intraday credit exposures, ensuring the safety and soundness of depository institutions, and supporting emergency lending operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the financial condition of depository institutions and take corrective actions to mitigate heightened risk.
• Manage collateral eligibility, valuation, and margining for credit extensions.
• Lead the development and execution of emergency lending facilities and related policy projects.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, staffing, workflow, and performance management of the risk team.
• Participate in system‑wide policy development and contribute to strategic planning.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in credit risk management within a banking or central‑bank environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and a track record of influencing policy and operational decisions.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including staff development and performance oversight.
• Ability to work onsite in Boston and maintain a secure Federal Reserve information environment.
