Revenue Accountant – Full-Time

About the role

Atlanta Technical College is seeking a full‑time Revenue Accountant to join its Business Office within the Administrative Services Division. Reporting to the Accounting Director, you will ensure accurate financial recording and compliance with state accounting policies while supporting the college’s revenue operations.

Key responsibilities

• Record revenue receipts and other financial transactions in journals, ledgers, or automated accounting systems.
• Assign appropriate accounting codes, categorize entries, and resolve recording errors.
• Prepare standard accounting reports, including PELL and HOPE spreadsheets for revenue journal entries.
• Balance and reconcile journals, ledgers, bank statements, and college‑specific financial reports.
• Control and record cash, checks, and credit‑card receipts.
• Manage post‑award grant accounting to ensure compliance with funding guidelines and timely revenue receipt.
• Coordinate with auditors, providing documentation and explanations of accounting practices.
• Maintain accurate account data and accounting files.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or an Associate’s degree with at least two years of relevant accounting experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and student financial‑aid accounting.
• Familiarity with budgeting procedures and federal/state regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel).
• Ability to operate standard office computer systems.
