Retention Specialist

About the role

Optimum is seeking a Retention Specialist to join its fast‑growing connectivity team. In this customer‑focused position you will work from our training center in Tyler, TX, handling inbound calls from customers who wish to disconnect or downgrade their service. Your goal is to turn each interaction into a sales opportunity, preserving revenue and reinforcing the Optimum brand.

Key responsibilities

• Engage customers who are at risk of terminating service and present tailored product and service solutions.
• Explain the value, features, and benefits of Optimum’s portfolio, including competitive offers.
• Navigate multi‑product billing systems to provide accurate account information and resolve inquiries.
• Achieve retention and sales targets in a commission‑driven environment.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge and use high‑value selling techniques.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Call‑center experience; technology or cellular sales background is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, conflict‑resolution setting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Residency within 50 miles of 6151 Paluxy Rd, Tyler, TX.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑based computer systems.
• Experience using databases.
• Familiarity with billing systems and multi‑product customer platforms.
