Retention Specialist

About the role

Optimum is seeking a Retention Specialist to join its fast‑paced connectivity team. In this position you will act as a trusted advisor, helping customers who want to disconnect or downgrade their service by presenting the value of Optimum’s products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Engage customers who are at risk of terminating service and present retention offers.
• Educate callers on product features, benefits, and competitive comparisons.
• Navigate multi‑product billing systems to provide accurate account information.
• Achieve sales‑driven retention targets in a commission‑based environment.
• Maintain high‑value selling standards while delivering consistent brand experiences.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Call‑center experience; technology or cellular sales background preferred.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, conflict‑resolution environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Residence within 50 miles of the training center at 930 Soundview Ave, Bronx, NY.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating systems.
• Experience using databases and billing systems.
