Retail Operations Specialist

About the role

Star Retailers is seeking a detail‑oriented Retail Operations Specialist to ensure smooth daily functioning of its grocery store. You will work across departments to optimise processes, boost customer experience and drive operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily retail operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Analyse sales data and operational metrics to identify improvement areas and implement strategies that increase sales and profitability.
• Collaborate with management to develop and execute efficiency and customer‑satisfaction initiatives.
• Coordinate inventory management, including stock levels, ordering and product displays.
• Train and support staff on best practices and operational standards.
• Assist in scheduling staff and managing labour costs effectively.
• Monitor store cleanliness and organisation to maintain a welcoming, safe environment.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve operational issues promptly.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in retail operations, preferably in wholesale or retail.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management or a related field (preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends; Matric is compulsory.
