About the role

J. Alexander’s is seeking a Restaurant Manager to lead both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house teams in its Houston location. You will be the bridge between guests and the kitchen, ensuring every visit reflects the brand’s commitment to exceptional food, service, and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the dining room and kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality and guest service.
• Optimize operational efficiency by managing schedules, inventory, and workflow.
• Assist the General Manager or Assistant GM with planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and delegating tasks to hourly staff.
• Train, coach, and develop team members to foster a strong, collaborative culture.
• Monitor and enforce health, safety, and sanitation policies.

Required profile

• Passionate about hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences.
• Strong leadership mindset with a focus on team culture.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, though not mandatory.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced restaurant environment.

Required skills
