Resource Development and Grants Intern (Fall 2026)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a motivated Resource Development and Grants Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This unpaid position offers hands‑on experience with the full grant lifecycle, from prospect research to proposal drafting, while supporting new arrivals in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Attend the intern orientation and onboarding sessions.
• Research potential donor prospects and compile relevant data.
• Assist with donor outreach, relationship building, and cultivation activities.
• Support administrative tasks related to proposal development.
• Provide assistance in the grant‑writing process, including drafting sections and gathering supporting documents.
• Organize and maintain records of grant proposals and related correspondence.
• Record hours and submit monthly timesheets via the IRC Volunteer Dashboard.

Required profile

• Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree.
• Ability to work independently, be resourceful, and meet deadlines.
• High‑level writing and research capabilities.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, global nonprofit environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
