About the role

The Residential Plumbing Instructor delivers classroom and hands‑on training to employees and trainees, preparing them for licensing, safety compliance, and career advancement in the plumbing trade. The role blends technical expertise with teaching skills to ensure learners acquire industry‑standard knowledge and practical abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom, laboratory and on‑site instruction covering plumbing fundamentals, installation methods, safety procedures, code requirements and best practices.
• Develop and maintain lesson plans, instructional materials, practical exercises and training documentation.
• Assess trainee performance through tests, demonstrations, hands‑on assessments and participation.
• Coach, mentor and support trainees and field employees throughout their development.
• Maintain training equipment and labs in safe, organized, operational condition.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, plumbing codes and training procedures.
• Coordinate with operations leadership to align training objectives with workforce needs.
• Track attendance, progress, certifications and program completion records accurately.
• Contribute to curriculum improvements and continuous development of education programs.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience in residential plumbing or related trade.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, installation practices, troubleshooting methods and applicable codes.
• Ability to teach technical concepts effectively in both classroom and hands‑on environments.
• Leadership, communication, organizational and mentoring abilities.
• Understanding of workplace safety standards, trade regulations and licensing requirements.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, specifications and technical documentation.
• Ability to pass background and motor‑vehicle record checks.
