About the role
The Residential Experience Coordinator supports the living‑learning environment for 30‑40 high‑school students (grades 10‑12) at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts. This full‑time professional staff position ensures safety, fosters community, and enhances the residential experience for students living on campus.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with residential staff to create a positive, learning‑focused living environment.
- Plan and chaperone on‑campus and off‑campus social, educational, and cultural trips.
- Respond to resident concerns, emergencies, and crisis situations promptly.
- Conduct nightly room checks to verify student presence and safety.
- Perform weekly room inspections and enforce residence policies.
- Provide supervision and guidance to students on a designated floor.
- Coordinate with faculty and administration to support student academic and personal development.
Required profile
- Previous live‑in residence life experience, preferably with high‑school students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies and crisis situations calmly.
- Flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
