Research Technician I (Entry-level)

About the role

The Research Technician I provides entry‑level, semi‑skilled technical support for horticultural research at Texas A&M AgriLife. Working under general supervision, the technician assists with greenhouse and farm operations, data collection, and routine plant care.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain grounds and greenhouse facilities, including mowing, cleaning, and general upkeep (20%).
• Assist with data collection for the Ball trial, handling potting, planting, and related trial activities (40%).
• Perform routine watering and ensure proper plant care (20%).
• Support additional duties as assigned, contributing to overall research objectives (10%).

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; combination of education and experience acceptable.
• At least two years of related experience in agricultural or horticultural settings.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with team members.
