Research Technician I – Data Analysis & Modeling

About the role
The Department of Atmospheric Sciences at Texas A&M University seeks a part‑time, temporary Research Technician I to support a 4.5‑month project on air‑pollution prediction using machine learning and satellite data. The role involves data processing, numerical modeling, and assisting the research team to meet project deliverables.
Key responsibilities
- Assemble and operate a numerical modeling system that incorporates machine learning and AI techniques.
- Provide logistical support for data storage and laboratory organization.
- Assist senior staff with data analysis, modeling procedures, and result interpretation.
- Support undergraduate and graduate students on their research projects.
- Participate in training and professional development sessions as required.
Required profile
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least two years of related experience.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Professional interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively in a team environment.
