About the role
The Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences seeks a Research Scientist to lead independent virology research focused on poultry diseases. The role involves designing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to scientific publications while collaborating with faculty and students.
Key responsibilities
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot laboratory experiments in virology.
- Analyze, interpret, and summarize research data.
- Prepare and submit grant proposals and funding applications.
- Maintain animal use protocols and biosafety compliance documentation.
- Train students and laboratory personnel and assist with daily lab operations.
- Present findings at scientific conferences and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
Required profile
- Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in virology, veterinary medicine, or a related biomedical field.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publish results.
- Experience with grant writing and securing research funding.
- Strong record of scientific communication and collaboration.
