Research Internship – Spring 2027 (Part‑time, Unpaid)

About the role

The Children’s Research Triangle (CRT) is offering a part‑time, unpaid research internship for undergraduate students in the Chicago area. The spring cohort runs from mid‑January to mid‑May, with flexible scheduling and a primarily remote work arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature searches and assemble research materials for ongoing program evaluations.
• Interview families and collect data for studies on trauma treatment, youth mental‑health first aid, and gun‑violence prevention.
• Enter, clean, and manage data using Excel and IBM SPSS, supporting analysis and reporting.
• Assist the research team in preparing summaries, tables, and visualizations for internal and external use.

Required profile

• Undergraduate student who has completed at least one introductory course in psychology, behavioral science, child development, or social work with a grade of B or higher.
• Demonstrated academic merit and a clear interest in pursuing a career or further education in empirical research or medicine.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
