Research Intern – Robotic Hardware, Simulation and Data

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic research interns to join Applied Intuition’s Research Group, focusing on robotic hardware, large‑scale simulation and data‑driven methods. Interns will work on cutting‑edge projects that support autonomous driving and general‑purpose robotics, contributing to both hardware design and simulation pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, testing, and integration of robotic hardware for data collection.
• Develop and maintain large‑scale simulation environments, including deformable object simulation.
• Support reinforcement‑learning training pipelines that leverage simulated data.
• Collaborate with senior researchers to analyze experimental results and iterate on prototypes.
• Document findings and present progress to the research team.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in physical AI, autonomous systems and robotics research.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced, interdisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Experience with robotic hardware prototyping or data acquisition systems.
• Familiarity with simulation tools and environments.
• Basic programming skills for data processing and experiment automation.
