Research Farm Manager

About the role

The Research Farm Manager oversees an experimental farming operation within a research environment, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and safely. This supervisory position combines managerial duties with hands‑on technical work to support agricultural research initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities on the experimental farm, coordinating personnel, equipment, and supplies.
• Collaborate with farm administrators and research project leaders to plan, schedule, and resolve project conflicts.
• Maintain accurate personnel records, approve leave, and enforce safety practices.
• Purchase and manage supplies, tools, and equipment needed for research experiments.
• Oversee the care of plants and animals on a scheduled basis.
• Design, direct, and execute construction, repair, and maintenance projects, including wiring, carpentry, and plumbing.
• Provide technical supervision for related research areas such as forestry, aquaculture, and agricultural engineering.

Required profile

• Supervisor‑level experience with broad review from research scientists or administrators.
• Ability to plan and coordinate complex research projects and manage farm personnel.
• Strong record‑keeping and safety‑management capabilities.
• Experience overseeing procurement and maintenance of farm equipment and facilities.
