Research Faculty – Assistant to Professor (Non‑tenure Track)

About the role

The Division of Burn Care and Research at LSU Health Sciences Center–New Orleans seeks a research‑focused faculty member to serve as Director of Operations for Burn & Trauma Research. The appointment can be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor on a non‑tenure track.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage an externally funded research portfolio in burn and trauma.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and support Center of Excellence designation.
• Advance research infrastructure and collaborate with clinical teams, research staff, and external partners.
• Contribute to education, workforce development, and broader institutional initiatives.
• Occasional travel for research coordination, field work, and scientific meetings.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in biomedical sciences, public health, health services research, epidemiology, engineering, or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical or translational research and grant‑funded projects.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and scientific writing abilities.
• Self‑motivated and able to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
