Research Engineer II – Nanofabrication

About the role

The Research Engineer II will support AggieFab, the core nanofabrication cleanroom at Texas A&M University. Working under the AggieFab Laboratory Manager, you will manage advanced nanofabrication tools and develop processes for academic and industrial projects, including MEMS and BioMEMS research.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize process recipes for a wide range of nanofabrication tools.
• Run staff productions for internal and external customers and generate detailed reports.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures and training documentation.
• Manage and maintain equipment such as electron beam lithography, photolithography, thin‑film deposition, and etching systems.
• Participate in micro‑/nanofabrication projects led by TAMU investigators and external partners.

Required profile

• Familiarity with a variety of nanofabrication tools and general wafer‑fab operations.
• Experience supporting research projects in MEMS or BioMEMS processing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
• Strong documentation and communication skills for reporting and training.
