Research Associate (Level 2/3) – Integrative Stress Metabolism

About the role

The Pennington Biomedical Research Center seeks a Research Associate (Level 2 or 3) to join the Integrative Stress Metabolism Laboratory. The role involves hands‑on participation in designing, executing, troubleshooting, and analyzing a range of molecular, biochemical, cellular, and physiological experiments that advance our understanding of stress‑related metabolic pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and optimize complex experiments in molecular, biochemical, cellular, and physiological domains.
• Develop experimental approaches in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and team, selecting appropriate assays and models.
• Collect, process, and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
• Assist in interpreting results and preparing scientific communications such as reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, and documentation according to safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proactive, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational skills to balance scientific tasks with project coordination.
• Relevant academic background (e.g., B.S. or M.S.) in a life‑science discipline.
