Research Associate

About the role

The Research Associate will support cutting‑edge projects that use human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC)‑derived airway and lung epithelial models to study differentiation, maturation, and disease mechanisms. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Houston, Texas, within the IBT‑CGPM‑Ramos department.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and differentiate hPSC and lung epithelial cultures, including airway basal cell ALI differentiation.
• Perform flow cytometry, immunostaining, microscopy, qPCR, and other molecular and cellular assays.
• Assist with animal xenograft experiments following approved protocols.
• Document experimental procedures, organize data, troubleshoot protocols, and manage laboratory equipment.
• Analyze and summarize results, prepare figures and reports for meetings and progress updates.
• Coordinate sample tracking, reagent inventory, and submissions to sequencing, histology, imaging, or core facilities.

Required profile

• Experience with cell culture and stem‑cell differentiation techniques.
• Familiarity with molecular biology assays and data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and train students or lab personnel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
