Research Associate

About the role

The Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks a full‑time, twelve‑month, grant‑funded Research Associate to lead and expand ecological numerical modeling efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a program in ecological numerical modeling.
• Conduct ADCP, wave, and water‑quality observations in the Maryland Coastal Bays.
• Run Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Modeling and Ce‑Qual‑ICM water‑quality modeling.
• Co‑supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Oceanography or Marine Sciences (ABD considered if completed before start date).
• Demonstrated experience in oceanographic observations.
• Experience with ecological or water‑quality numerical modeling.
