About the role

Join Texas A&M AgriLife Genomics and Bioinformatics Services (TxGen) as a Research Associate. You will work in a high‑throughput laboratory environment supporting cutting‑edge agricultural genomics projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high‑throughput Next‑Generation Sequencing (NGS) library preparation and sample quality control (QC) protocols.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot automated liquid handlers and short‑read sequencing platforms.
• Manage sample intake, log processing steps in the laboratory information management system (LIMS), and verify data integrity.
• Execute laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain meticulous documentation.
• Provide technical troubleshooting for complex genomic workflows.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented professional with laboratory experience in NGS library preparation and QC.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑throughput research service environment.
• Strong documentation skills and commitment to data integrity.
