Research Associate – Engineering Medicine

About the role

The Texas A&M University School of Engineering Medicine seeks a motivated Research Associate to support innovative projects that blend medical science with engineering. This position is based in Houston, Texas, and offers the opportunity to work alongside faculty and graduate students on cutting‑edge health‑care research.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute experiments for multiple research projects.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Collect, analyze, and document experimental data using statistical software.
• Prepare and submit research proposals to funding agencies.
• Maintain financial accounts related to research grants.
• Train and supervise undergraduate and graduate students, as well as technical staff.
• Prepare scientific manuscripts and client‑oriented publications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of hands‑on research experience in a specialized field.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, or travel as needed.
