Research Assistant 1 – Full-Time Research Support

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology seeks a full‑time Research Assistant 1 in Boca Raton, FL. The role supports investigators by providing research and experimentation assistance while handling clerical duties to ensure smooth office operations.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate scientific apparatus, performing minor repairs as needed.
• Prepare correspondence, answer phones, and manage bibliographies and application forms.
• Order laboratory supplies, maintain culture media reagents, and keep detailed logs, records, and study notebooks.
• Enter and verify research and clinical data in study databases, ensuring high accuracy and data integrity.
• Interact courteously with research participants, faculty, and staff, and assist with participant scheduling and chart maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (2 years preferred) in psychology, neuroscience, public health, or related disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to handle confidential information.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions.
