Research Analyst

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking motivated Research Analysts to join its Research Department starting in the summer of 2027. This entry‑level position offers the chance to work closely with senior economists on monetary‑policy research, develop analytical expertise, and contribute to publications that influence national and regional economic policy.

Key responsibilities

• Support the research activities of the Bank’s economists, including data collection, analysis, and literature reviews.
• Contribute to internal and external Bank publications and co‑author academic papers.
• Maintain and update economic indicators on the Bank’s public website.
• Assist in preparing policy briefings for the Bank’s President ahead of Federal Open Market Committee meetings.
• Develop data‑analysis and programming skills through hands‑on projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree completed by summer 2027 in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a closely related field.
• Strong interest in monetary policy, macroeconomics, and a potential pursuit of a Ph.D. in economics or finance.
• Eligibility to be a “Protected Individual” under U.S. immigration law and willingness to undergo an enhanced background check.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of econometrics.
