Research Analyst

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is seeking a Research Analyst to support its core monetary‑policy mission. You will work closely with research economists, contributing to data‑driven analysis, publications, and briefings that inform policy decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist economists in academic research and policy analysis across energy, financial, international, macro‑economics, or regional groups.
• Access, organize, analyze, and visualize economic data.
• Conduct statistical and econometric analyses, run quantitative models, and prepare background research.
• Draft memos, blog posts for Dallas Fed Economics, and articles for The Southwest Economy.
• Support pre‑FOMC briefings, Board of Directors presentations, and other public outreach efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with coursework in economics and a solid mathematical foundation (multivariable calculus).
• Ability to describe economic trends clearly in writing.
• Basic knowledge of key economic variables and data sets used by economists.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using econometric or statistical software such as STATA, R, Python, or EVIEWS.
