Remote Registered Nurse – Telehealth & Substance Use Disorder

About the role

Boulder Care is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses to join a fully remote telehealth team that supports patients receiving buprenorphine‑based treatment for opioid use disorder. You will work Monday‑Friday, 1 pm‑9 pm EST, delivering empathetic care through phone, text, and video interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide telephonic, text‑based and video‑based patient engagement and monitoring using clinical decision‑support tools.
• Educate patients on addiction, medication (including buprenorphine), overdose prevention, safer consumption and safer sex practices.
• Access and interpret Prescription Drug Monitoring Program data and support adherence monitoring.
• Assess patient progress, withdrawal management, pain needs, and collaborate on individualized care plans.
• Facilitate crisis intervention, referrals to higher levels of care, and maintain accurate medical records.

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of residence.
• Minimum two years of specialized nursing experience in outpatient substance‑use‑disorder treatment.
• Willingness to work full‑time (40 hours/week) on the specified schedule.
• Alignment with harm‑reduction principles; lived experience or peer recovery training is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with buprenorphine initiation and follow‑up.
• Proficiency in telehealth platforms and electronic health record documentation.
