Remote Pharmacist – Utilization Management (PBM)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) team on a 100% remote basis. You will evaluate Utilization Management (UM) requests such as prior authorizations, step therapy, and formulary exceptions, applying client‑specific criteria and clinical judgement.

Key responsibilities

• Review and adjudicate UM requests, including prior authorizations, quantity limits, step therapy, and formulary exceptions.
• Provide clinical evaluation and determine coverage decisions based on pre‑approved client criteria.
• Communicate directly with healthcare providers and members regarding non‑formulary and coverage issues.
• Collaborate with fellow pharmacists to ensure consistency of decisions across the team.
• Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and routine 1:1s via Microsoft Teams.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months experience working in a retail pharmacy environment.
• Current pharmacist license in good standing in the state of practice.
• Entry‑level (junior) with strong attendance and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Microsoft Teams for messaging and video calls.
• Familiarity with AutoHotkey for workflow automation.
