Remote Human Resource Representative

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, proactive Human Resources Representative to join our fully remote team. The role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and overall people operations for Doulas by the Bay, a company that connects families with professional doulas.

Key responsibilities

• Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
• Review applications, resumes, references, and candidate qualifications.
• Communicate professionally with applicants, employees, and leadership.
• Maintain employee files, documentation, contracts, policies, and HR records.
• Ensure completion of required training, paperwork, and onboarding steps.
• Handle employee relations with confidentiality, fairness, and professionalism.
• Address staff questions, concerns, performance issues, and communication needs.
• Collaborate with leadership to set clear expectations and accountability.
• Create, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
• Support performance reviews, coaching plans, warnings, and follow‑up.
• Keep HR systems organized and employee records accurate.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with employment practices and internal policies.
• Identify problems early and propose proactive solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 + years of Human Resources experience (senior level).
• Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence.
• Comfortable managing people and handling sensitive conversations.
• Excellent follow‑up, organization, and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
