Reliability Engineer

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a manufacturer of roofing and building materials, is hiring a Reliability Engineer in Bismarck, Missouri, reporting to the Plant Manager. This is a non-remote, safety-sensitive position focused on minimizing downtime, reducing maintenance costs and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) through preventive and predictive maintenance. The engineer analyzes equipment performance data, finds root causes of failures and works with maintenance, production and engineering teams to optimize maintenance programs.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and optimize cost-justified predictive and preventative maintenance strategies and reliability best practices at the plant.
• Train end users on CMMS, following Maximo SOPs, and maintain the electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance system.
• Analyze production loss data (downtime, rate reduction, waste) to find high-value root cause analysis opportunities.
• Review downtime history to spot trends and repeat events leading to failures.
• Facilitate RCM using FMECA to rank failure modes, design out root causes and develop predictive and preventive strategies.
• Assess spare parts needs for critical PM tasks and evaluate new technologies or inspection procedures to replace existing instrumentation, sensors, drives and other electrical components.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Mechanical or Reliability Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in process manufacturing or industrial equipment design, preferably with maintenance.
• Fluent oral and written English; proven problem solver with various methodologies.
• Experience with plant planning and scheduling, shutdown procedures and best practices.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within North America for training or to assist at other IKO plants.
