Reliability Engineer – Critical Equipment & Process Improvement

About the role
Join 3M’s global team of innovative engineers and help drive reliability improvements for critical equipment, processes, and systems. You will work on projects that reduce unplanned downtime, lower maintenance costs, and enhance overall operational performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead reliability improvement projects for critical assets and production systems.
- Apply reliability tools such as root‑cause analysis, FMEA, reliability‑centered maintenance, risk assessment, and statistical analysis.
- Drive reductions in unplanned downtime, repeat failures, and maintenance expenses.
- Develop and implement reliability strategies for equipment and processes.
- Support startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and stabilization activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (or Associate degree with additional experience) completed before start date.
- Six years (or eight years with an associate degree) of maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, or plant engineering experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Master’s degree in Reliability and Statistical Engineering or certifications such as Certified Reliability Engineer (ASQ) or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (SMRP) are a plus.
