Reliability Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing (Onsite)

About the role

Cabot Corporation is seeking a Reliability Engineer for its carbon black manufacturing plant in Franklin, LA. The role is dedicated to driving improvements in equipment reliability, availability, and performance to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to optimize plant performance, including volume, yield, quality, and equipment reliability.
• Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations and ensure corrective actions are applied to eliminate repeat failures.
• Analyze equipment performance data and failure trends to drive continuous improvement.
• Support the site mechanical integrity program by investigating equipment problems and improving reliability.
• Review and optimize preventive maintenance plans and implement predictive maintenance programs.
• Assist in the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for process and equipment operation.
• Collaborate with capital project managers and finance to create and manage assets in the maintenance management system.
• Conduct end‑of‑life assessments and recommend equipment repairs or replacements.

Required profile

• Experience in reliability engineering within a chemical or carbon‑black manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead root cause failure analyses and implement effective corrective actions.
• Strong background in maintenance strategy development, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Familiarity with mechanical integrity programs and equipment performance monitoring.
• Ability to work onsite full‑time and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
