Reliability Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing (Onsite, Franklin, LA)

About the role

Cabot Corporation is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join its Franklin, LA plant. The role focuses on improving equipment reliability, availability and performance in a carbon‑black manufacturing environment, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, recommend and implement improvements to plant performance, including volume, yield, quality and equipment reliability.
• Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations and ensure corrective actions are applied.
• Analyze equipment performance data and failure trends to drive continuous improvement.
• Support the mechanical integrity program by investigating equipment problems and eliminating repeat failures.
• Review and optimise preventive maintenance plans and implement predictive maintenance programmes.
• Assist in design, procurement and installation of new equipment and develop plant‑wide SOPs.
• Work with capital project managers and finance to create and hand over assets in the maintenance management system.
• Conduct end‑of‑life assessments and recommend repairs or replacements.

Required profile

• Experience in reliability engineering within a chemical or carbon‑black manufacturing setting.
• Proven ability to lead RCFA investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Strong analytical skills with experience using statistical techniques to improve process capability.
• Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, project and finance teams.
