Reliability Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing (Onsite, Franklin, LA)

About the role

Cabot Corporation is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join its Franklin, LA plant. The role focuses on improving equipment reliability, availability, and performance in a carbon black manufacturing environment, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to optimize plant performance, including volume, yield, quality, and equipment reliability.
• Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Analyze equipment performance data and failure trends to drive continuous improvement.
• Support the site mechanical integrity program by investigating equipment problems and eliminating recurring failures.
• Review and optimize preventive maintenance plans and implement predictive maintenance programs.
• Assist in the design, procurement, installation, and documentation of new equipment.
• Collaborate with capital project managers and finance to create and manage assets in the maintenance management system.
• Conduct end‑of‑life assessments and make recommendations for equipment repair or replacement.

Required profile

• Experience in reliability engineering within a chemical or carbon black manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead RCFA investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Strong analytical skills for equipment performance data and failure trend analysis.
