About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services is hiring Hourly Motorcycle Safety Coaches to deliver rider‑education courses and promote motorist awareness across the state. Working under limited supervision, coaches teach certified programs, issue license test waivers, and support regulatory compliance initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitate Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) certified courses for riders and non‑riders.
  • Issue motorcycle license test waivers to students who successfully complete the course.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal laws, agency rules, and policies.
  • Participate in public awareness events, motorcycle enthusiast gatherings, and outreach campaigns.
  • Train agency personnel to administer motorcycle licensing skills tests.
  • Complete required coach refresher courses, professional‑development workshops, and conferences.
  • Respond promptly to management and customer inquiries, escalating complaints as needed.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

  • Current Motorcycle Safety Foundation Rider Coach Certification.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Own a street‑legal, registered motorcycle that meets state requirements.
  • Availability to work up to an average of 24 hours per week.
  • Willingness to work outdoors, in inclement weather, holidays, and around moving vehicles.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of motorcycle safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to conduct classroom and practical instruction.
  • Basic motorcycle maintenance, fueling, and minor repair skills.
  • Physical capability to bend, lift, and perform related tasks.
