About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to serve as a School Nurse for the Greater New Orleans Area. In this role you will provide direct nursing care to students, promote health education, and ensure a safe environment within the school system.

Key responsibilities

Administer nursing care and follow the nursing process for student health needs.
Assess learning needs and implement appropriate health education strategies.
Collaborate with teachers, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate student care.
Maintain accurate health records and use computer‑based applications for documentation.
Promote a healthy school environment and respond to emergencies in accordance with BLS protocols.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
