Registered Nurse (RN) – OB

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) – OB provides compassionate, evidence‑based care to patients in the obstetrics unit of Advocate Trinity Hospital. Working three 12‑hour night shifts per week, the RN coordinates patient care, ensures safety, and contributes to a positive birth experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
• Utilize evidence‑based practice and clinical decision‑making to maintain high standards of patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and document care accurately.
• Educate patients and families on labor processes, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum one year of inpatient RN experience; OB/Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
