Registered Nurse (RN) – Full‑time Days

About the role

Kindred Hospital Chicago – Northlake is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct and indirect patient care during day shifts. You will work in a 94‑bed long‑term acute care setting, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support patients through extended recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Develop and update nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and the care team.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, supervisors, and staff.
• Participate in discharge planning and referrals to other disciplines.
• Supervise and assign tasks to nursing staff, ensuring safe delegation within scope of practice.
• Document assessments, care plans, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
• Administer medications following the five rights and manage pain using appropriate techniques.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Knowledge of nursing standards, policies, and the nursing process.
• Ability to assess, document, and reassess patient conditions, including pain.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and the care team.
• Experience in acute or long‑term care settings is preferred.
