Registered Nurse (RN) – Full‑time Days

About the role

Kindred Hospital Chicago – North is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct and indirect patient care during day shifts. You will work in a 164‑bed long‑term acute care setting, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support patients through extended recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive admission assessments and ongoing reassessments for all patients.
• Develop, update, and coordinate individualized nursing care plans with patients, families, and the care team.
• Communicate changes in clinical condition to physicians, nursing supervisors, and co‑workers promptly.
• Administer medications safely using the five rights and document all actions accurately.
• Provide pain assessment, management, and education to patients and families.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and special procedures within scope of practice.
• Participate in discharge planning and make appropriate referrals to other disciplines.
• Document all patient information, assessments, and care plans in the electronic medical record according to hospital policies.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
• Ability to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced acute setting.
