About the role

The Registered Nurse – Primary Care provides nursing care to veterans and patients at the McMinnville Outpatient Clinic in McMinnville, Tennessee. Working within the Nursing Service Ambulatory Care team, the RN delivers primary‑care services, supports patient education, and collaborates with interdisciplinary staff to ensure high‑quality outpatient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and deliver primary‑care interventions in an outpatient setting.
• Coordinate patient care plans, document clinical information, and ensure compliance with VA policies and procedures.
• Provide health education, counseling, and follow‑up to promote patient wellness.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other health‑care professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Graduate of an ACEN‑ or CCNE‑accredited nursing program (associate, bachelor, or higher).
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Proficiency in basic written and spoken English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
• Eligibility for VA employment, including meeting any applicable veteran‑oriented hiring preferences.
