Registered Nurse – Pediatric Neurological Surgery

About the role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Neurological Surgery unit on the Upper East Side. The RN will work under physician direction to deliver high‑quality patient care, coordinate multidisciplinary services, and support clinical research initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Assess patients, develop nursing care plans, and prioritize care delivery.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations, diagnostic tests, and procedures.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary services, schedule diagnostic tests, and manage patient flow.
- Perform inpatient diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures as needed.
- Triage patient inquiries, communicate test results, and ensure infection‑control compliance.
- Administer injections and medications in accordance with state law and clinic guidelines.
- Document clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in safety programs, staff orientation, and policy review.
- Support clinical research by assessing eligibility, completing protocol documents, and preparing IRB materials.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, preferably in a surgical or specialty setting.
- Current New York State RN license.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) and Infection Control certificate.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
