Registered Nurse – Pediatric Emergency Room

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Emergency Department in Washington, DC. You will provide urgent care to children and adolescents, working alongside a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first line of defense for pediatric patients requiring urgent medical attention.
• Assess, prioritize, and deliver care for trauma, injury, or severe medical conditions.
• Monitor patient health, administer medications, and operate pediatric medical equipment.
• Participate in code‑blue and other emergency responses.
• Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement care plans, including discharge decisions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow‑up care.

Required profile

• ADN or higher degree in nursing.
• Active, unencumbered RN license.
• 1+ years of experience in a pediatric and/or emergency setting (preferred).
• Excellent communication with healthcare professionals, children, and families.

Required skills

• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification (preferred).
• PALS certification (preferred).
• Proficiency with pediatric medical equipment and procedures.
