Registered Nurse – Pediatric Emergency Department

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Emergency Department in Washington, DC. You will provide urgent care to children and adolescents, working across day, night, and mid shifts on a full‑time, part‑time, or per‑diem basis.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first line of defense for pediatric patients requiring urgent medical care.
• Assess, prioritize, and treat children with trauma, injury, or severe medical conditions.
• Monitor patient health, administer medications, and operate pediatric medical equipment.
• Participate in code blue and other emergency situations.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and care plans.

Required profile

• ADN or higher degree in nursing.
• Active, unencumbered RN license.
• Preferred: 1+ years experience in pediatric and/or emergency settings.
• Preferred certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
• Operation of pediatric medical equipment and procedures.
